Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Hugglescote, we are an inclusive school. We strive to remove barriers to learning to ensure that all children can reach their full potential. Use this page to find out more about different learning difficulties. If you are concerned about your child, please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher, who will happily discuss progress and ways in which you can help your child at home.

• Our SEND Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) Unit manager is Mr Ward.

Our SEND Information Report gives a summary of all we do at Hugglescote to provide additional support for your child if they do have any special needs.

It provides information on how special needs might be identified, who may help and how. It also has a list of contact details for us and outside agencies that might be able to help. Please see SEND Information Report (updated annually) below to find out more.

This forms part of the Leicestershire Authority’s Local Offer – which gives children and young people with SEND and their families information about help and local services to Leicestershire. For more information about what the Local Authority can provide please click here

For our collaborative approach to pupils with SEND – our SEND policy can be found below. This has been decided with other local schools in the area.
